Recruit green team volunteers to sort through all recycling and compost to remove contaminants before final disposal
Sourced specialty recycler to recycle all beer cups
Year 3
Get buy in from beer vendors to use compostable cups, expanding materials collected for composting
RESULTS
Drastically improved resource recovery rate; up from 22% to 65% in 2007 and then up to 81% in 2010.
Established the event as one of the first events in Portland to implement a full scale front and back of house compost program
